Why tile, and why the prep matters
Tile is the right floor where water and wear are a fact of life: kitchens, baths, laundry rooms and entries. It's hard, waterproof on the surface and lasts for decades. But tile is only as good as what's under it. Cracked tiles, hollow spots and uneven edges almost always come from a base that wasn't flat or prepared. That's where most of our attention goes.
What we install
- Tile floors: porcelain, ceramic, natural stone and wood-look tile for kitchens, baths, entries and living areas
- Showers: walls and floors over a waterproofed base. We work with multiple waterproofing systems, bringing the right technology to each project.
- Backsplashes: kitchen and bath backsplashes with clean cuts and grout lines
- Tile removal: old tile and thinset taken up and the floor prepared for what goes down next
Choosing tile
We'll take you to one of our trusted tile suppliers around DFW and walk the store with you, helping you choose tile, layout and grout color for the room and how you use it. Already picked your tile? We'll install the product you've chosen.
How a tile installation works
- 1In-home estimate. We measure, check the floor or walls, and talk through tile, layout and grout.
- 2Plan and order. You get a written estimate with prep, tile and trim spelled out.
- 3Prep. Old flooring or tile removed, the base leveled, and showers waterproofed.
- 4Set. Tile laid to the planned layout, cut and set level.
- 5Grout and seal. Grout applied and cleaned, and natural stone sealed to protect it.
- 6Walkthrough. We walk the work with you before we call it done.
What goes into the price
Every room is different, so we price after an in-home visit. What moves the number:
- Tile size, material and pattern
- Removing old tile or flooring
- How much leveling and prep the base needs
- Showers: waterproofing, niches, benches and glass-ready edges
- Trim, transitions and cuts around cabinets and fixtures
You get a written estimate with the scope spelled out, so you know exactly what you're paying for.

Frequently asked questions
How long does tile installation take?
Most floors take 3 to 5 days including prep, setting and grout. Showers take 1 to 2 weeks.
Can you install tile over my existing floor?
Sometimes, but usually we remove it. Tile needs a flat, solid base, and going over an old floor can cause cracks and height problems at doorways. We'll tell you after we check.
Is wood-look tile a good alternative to hardwood?
In kitchens, baths and laundry rooms, yes. It's waterproof and very durable. In living areas and bedrooms, many homeowners still prefer real hardwood for its warmth and feel.
Do you tile showers and backsplashes, or only floors?
All three: floors, shower walls and floors over a waterproofed base, and kitchen and bath backsplashes, in tile or natural stone.
How much does tile installation cost?
It depends on the tile, the room and how much prep the base needs. We give a written estimate after a free in-home visit, so the price reflects your home, not an average.
